Producing high SPL over a very wide frequency response, the bi-amplified 8050B is a powerful and very accurate reference monitoring system.
Our Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) feature, reduces power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically switching the active monitor to standby, when no audio signal has been detected for some time. When it receives an audio signal again, the loudspeaker turns back on.
ISS is fully compliant with the latest EU requirements and the ErP 2013 Directive for electronic devices.
It is an excellent tool for large recording studios, broadcast and surround installations, mastering suites and TV and post-production houses. Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8050B also features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8050B's directivity. Genelec designed this specially shaped, very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximized to achieve an astoundingly flat on- and off-axis frequency response. As a result, the 8050B has an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on- and off-axis. This also gives the 8050B superb imaging qualities and less listening fatigue.
